Mark Your Calendar: The General (with the National Symphony Orchestra)

thegeneral011

This is great news: one of the films that was a turning point in my own appreciation of cinema, Buster Keaton’s silent-era comedy/action/romance/war movie/historical epic The General will be screening at the Kennedy Center on April 4th at 8PM. Any screening of this genuine masterpiece from “The Great Stone Face” would be post-worthy by itself, but the film will be accompanied by the National Symphony Orchestra and acclaimed organist Dennis James (and if you think an organist can’t be acclaimed, then think again). Ticket prices range from $20 all the way up to $65, and are available here.
